现在，大家购物基本上已经很少用到现金，要么直接刷卡（swipe the card），要么手机支付，方便很多。
不管是刷卡，还是手机支付，都会牵扯到输入密码的问题，今天，就来跟大家分享一波跟“密码”有关的英语知识。
提到密码，大家的第一反应可能会是“password”，算是一个非常基础的词汇，但“银行卡密码”的英语其实不是“password”，而是另外一个表达——PIN.
“PIN”的全称是Personal identification number，译为“用户个人识别码”，常和number连用。PIN number通常是由一串数字组成，多指在提取现金或办理银行业务时，需要在数字键盘上输入的个人账户密码。

您可以在一个存折上开立几个定期账户，并设置唯一密码。
与“password”的区别？
相比于PIN number，password的用处更为广泛一些。比如大家经常用的社交媒体微信、微博等，或者计算机登录的时候，都需要输入密码，这个密码对应的英文就是“password”，通常由数字、字母、字符组成。
除此之外，现在还可以面部识别或声音识别来登录支付宝或微信，这个同样可以用“password”来表示。

除非知道密码，否则谁也用不了那台计算机。
除了PIN，password，英语中还有一个词也有“密码”的意思，就是“code”。那“code”的用法和其他两者又有何不同呢？
“code”既不能与 PIN 替换，也不等同于 “password”。“code” 强调用字母、符号代表原始的信息从而得到的 “代码”。比如，国家或地区的 “区号” 是 “area code” 或 “dialling code”。

英语中较大的数字，可以整百整百地读。按照顺序：十亿（billion）、百万（million）、千（thousand）、百（hundred）

美式英语：four thousand three hundred sixty-six

注意：
1.在英式英语中，百位和十位之间需要加“and”，而美式英语则不用。
2.从1100到1900之间整百的数，像1100,1200,1300，... 更常见的说法是eleven hundred，twelve hundred等，而不是one thousand one hundred.
小数怎么读？
小数的读法很简单，主要分为两部分，小数点前和小数点后。小数点前，同整数的读法一样，小数点后，若是两位或两位以上，则分别读出。
比如：
16.83 不读sixteen point eighty-three，而读作：sixteen point eight three
3.14159 读作：three point one four one five nine
分数怎么读？
分数的读法有个规则：分子读基数，分母读序数。分子大于1，分母加“s”
1/5 读作 a/one fifth
3/8 读作 three eighths
还有：
1/2 读作 a/one half
1/3 读作 a/one third
1/4 读作 a/one quarter(fourth)
1/8 读作 an/one eighth
1/4/7 读作 one and four sevenths
一般简单的分数可以采用这种“基+序”的读法，对于比较复杂的分数，可以用“over”来表示，a/b即可读作：a over b
比如：23/78 可读作：twenty-three over seventy-eight
日期怎么读？
年份
主要有四种情形：
1.通常表示年份的时候，将数字按前后分为两组：
1986 nineteen eighty-six
1999 nineteen ninety-nine
2.如果前两个数字非零，后两位数为零，只读前两位，后面两位读为hundred：
1700 seventeen hundred
1900 nineteen hundred
3.如果前两个数字非零，第三位为零，最后一位非零，则第三位零可以读为“O”：
1708 seventeen O eight
1905 nineteen O five
4.关于千年的读法：
1000 读作 one thousand
1006 读作 one thousand and six（ten O six）
2000 读作 two thousand
2006 读作 two thousand and six（twenty O six）

关于具体日期的表达，英式英语和美式英语有所不同：
写法上：英式先写日子，美式先写月份
比如：
1998年5月8日
英式英语：8th May 1998
美式英语：May 8,1998
读法上，英式英语有两种表达方式：
The eighth of May,nineteen ninety-eight
May the eighth,nineteen ninety-eight
美式英语这样表达：
May eighth,nineteen ninety-eight（省略中间的“the”）
