Step 1 Presentation
T：Hello, everyone! Today we’ll learn grammar of unit 4. How are you today?
S: I’m fine.
T：I’m fine today. But I was ill yesterday. Today I get a little better. So I can be here with you. Where are you now?
S: We are at school now.
T: We are at school now. But ten hours ago we were at home.
T: Is it November this month?
S: Yes!
T: It is November this month. It was October last month.
T: ten hours ago, last month .这些都是表示过去的时间。When we talk about the things in the past, we use the simple past tense. 当我们谈论过去的事情时，我们用一般过去时。大家是否观察到be 动词在过去时中的变化呢？Can you work out the rules？

negative form:

T:Do you know how to change the following sentences into question form?

T: Now it’s your turn to practice. Can you change the following sentences into question form and give answers?

S:No, she wasn’t.
T:Why ? She is a member of the Animal Club. What did she do yesterday? Let’s have a look.
Millie went to the Animal Club yesterday.
She stayed there for One hour.
She looked after the animals there.
She left at 5:00 p.m .
T:went ，stayed， looked，left 为动词的过去式。其中stayed， looked为规则动词过去式的变化。而went ， left为不规则动词过去式的变化。那么行为动词的过去式是如何构成的呢？

T:Let’s see how well you understand the simple past tense of the verb “to do ”. Please do exercise A1 on page 67. I think you can do a good job.

did not = didn’t ，didn’t 是did not 的缩略形式

本课是7B unit4的语法课。教学内容是一般过去时。在设计上分为两个部分，即一般过去时中使用be动词的情况和一般过去时中使用行为动词的情况。 每个部分都分别对肯定句、否定句和一般疑问句形式进行讲解和操练。在操练中，要注意操练的层次性:即从Mechanical drills-Meaningful drills-Communication drills。要在情境中学习和运用语法。教师在教学中可用“归纳法”和“演绎法”。
