Hangzhou, a picturesque city by the West Lake surrounded by the intoxicating sweet aroma of osmanthus is known as the city of osmanthus flowers. As is written in the <The Old Stories of LinAn(ancient name of Hangzhou) >, Manjuelong Village boasts the unparallel scenery of osmanthus flowers. For thousands of years, scholars and poets praised the beauty and sweet scent of osmanthus flowers in Hangzhou, especially in Manjuelong Village, a time-honored tourist destination in Hangzhou. With the launch of JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou and Courtyard by Marriott Hangzhou Wulin, Marriott International has crowned the city of Hangzhou with a gorgeous new landmark of beautiful properties featuring authentic, putting guess at ease in an environment of relaxed elegance and effortless luxury.

Grand Hotels Magazine had this amazing journey of curiosity to visit two brand new hotels in Hangzhou with an old friend of Grand Hotels Magazine. Mr. Hartmut Schaller, we had a special interview with him when he was general manager of Renaissance Yangtze Shanghai Hotel, and worked together on the grand event of the 2009 You Are the Chef Award ceremony. Marriott China recently announced the launch of a new complex consisting of two brands, JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou and Courtyard by Marriott Hangzhou Wulin, located in the heart of Hangzhou’s business and shopping area and yet only a stones throw from the timeless beauty of the city’s landmark West Lake. As the first property of Marriot International in Hangzhou, JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou marks the entrance of superb luxury hotels in Zhejiang, and with the opening of JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou and Courtyard by Marriott Hangzhou Wulin, Marriott China has illuminated Hangzhou’s skyline with a brand new luxury landmark. As part of an 80,000-square-metre complex, the two hotel towers will be connected by a building which Marriott calls a “palladium” that will house conference space, restaurants, lounges and other public facilities. Fusing contemporary chic with unpretentious luxury, the new JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou is ideally located for today''s business and leisure guests and is also within easy reach of many historical and cultural attractions such as Wulin Square, the famous Grand Canal, Museums and the world famous West Lake. These two new properties will feature facilities and amenities catering to both the business and leisure travelers.

Talking of the excellent location of the two hotels, Hartmut Schaller,general manager of JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou & Courtyard by Marriott Hangzhou Wulin said, “Boasting such a desirable location, our 5-star JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou and 4-star Courtyard by Marriott Hangzhou Wulin are impressive venues offering sophisticated business travelers and tourists a front seat to Hangzhou with luxury accommodations.” The twin towers of JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou & Courtyard by Marriott Hangzhou Wulin are the first twin hotels under the management of Marriott International in China, so there’s no precedent for Mr. Hartmut Schaller to follow on running two hotels at the same time. Mr. Hartmut Schaller said, “I feel very lucky to have a motivated team of outstanding competence to run both hotels which share common resources, and we’ll focus on the training to prepare them for a more diverse operation model of the hotel. When it comes to the spending power of a city, Mr. Hartmut Schaller mentioned that a world famous luxury brand gets its highest sales volume in Hangzhou and he considers the consumption capacity of Hangzhou definitive. Hangzhou is a city where people are into delicate food, and is famous for its special cuisines. And of course JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou is no exception. Mr. Hartmut Schaller showed us around the restaurants and private rooms and introduced the unique features of them each in detail. “We’d like to show our superb customer-oriented catering service to the readers and guests.” Said Mr. Hartmut Schaller. Besides the superior accommodation experience, JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou also takes proud in its excellent food and beverage service. Man Ho the Chinese restaurant, with modern sleek and rustic overtones, serves delicate Cantonese cuisine as well as Hangzhou cuisine. The features here are the display kitchens, duck oven, work line and dim sum kitchens are all on show. Mr. Hartmut Schaller introduced that the guests can enjoy their dinner not only at Mon Ho, they can also go to the Man Ho Club located on the 4th floor with two private elevators to ensure guests have an exclusive and privileged experience. Savoring the subtle delicacies served by well trained staffs and appreciating the stunning view by the windows, the club presents the ultimate exclusive dining experience. The hotel also provides further choices to meet various demands of the guests, including Asia Bistro, a three meal a day buffet restaurant featuring fantastic cuisines from Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and India and food festivals with various themes. The key here is food freshness, cooked to order and variety, with a focus on the flavors of Asia. This outlet oozes life and activity, the buffet itself is clearly laid out into unique live cooking stations and guests are lured to each station by the sights and sounds that radiate for behind them. For a romantic candlelit dinner, come to Cru Steak House on the second floor, modern with textured design featuring dark wood floors and strong bold fabrics, broken with stainless steel and glass. The restaurant is about the best cuts of beef, the freshest seafood and great wines. he lobby reinvented is an integration of the lobby and lobby lounge known simple as “The Lounge”. It is divided into clearly defined zones where guests can perform various activities. Velocity bar is a new modern contemporary sports bar driven by the technology of today. Featuring large multiple LCD flat screen TVs laid out in different zones depicting the various sporting events.

   此行对于《大酒店》既好奇又充满了熟悉感,好奇是因为这是个全新的酒店,熟悉是因为此次采访的主角是我们的老朋友,早在施华德先生就任于上海扬子江万丽总经理时我们就曾对其做过专访,并且还合作了完成了2009年“洋厨房”盛大的颁奖典礼。再次见到施华德先生依然是如此的健谈和亲切,未待我们开口他就热情的介绍起酒店的概况。在短短的几天中杭州JW万豪酒店携带其相连的杭州武林万怡酒店相继揭幕,这对双生兄弟的诞生标志着世界酒店业巨头的顶尖品牌进驻杭州,杭州JW万豪酒店是万豪集团进驻杭城的第一家酒店,并且也是万豪集团的最高品牌,这对于整个浙江省的饭店业和旅游业都具有里程碑的意义。同时位于市中心8,000平方米的城市商业综合体中,两座酒店相互贯通,拥有如“琶”一般的时尚建筑形态。拥有直面京杭大运河、雄踞武林广场的优越地理位置,结合了现代时尚和古典奢华理念的酒店坐落于城市商务及休闲中心的武林商圈,毗邻众多时尚购物中心及历史文化景点,与杭州大厦、武林广场、京杭大运河、丝绸博物馆咫尺之遥,随着地铁交通的兴建,这两家酒店更将成为商务和休闲旅客的至臻之选。

   杭州是一个非常注重饮食品质的城市,说道杭州人们不禁想起很多这里的特色佳肴,杭州JW酒店当然也不例外,施华德先生强调酒店的餐饮设置是非常用心的,他饶有兴致的带我们参观了酒店的餐厅和包房,并一一做了详细的解释,“这样可以让读者,包括我们的客人更加详尽的了解到我们细致而人性化的餐饮服务。”总经理依然是如此尽责和细心。酒店特设的万豪中餐厅,以现代时尚的手法演绎古典中国元素,诠释精致的粤菜和杭帮菜系。粤菜选料广泛,广博奇异;杭帮菜精巧细腻,清秀雅丽。并拥有开放式厨房让所有烹饪过程一览无疑。总经理介绍,酒店不仅有万豪中餐厅为客人呈现中式佳肴,还可以选择在4楼的万豪汇进餐,这里分为9个设计精巧的包厢,并且每个包厢都可以看到非常独特而广阔的外景。酒店还为前来用餐的客人特设了两部私人电梯到达餐厅,试想在这个空间里欣赏着窗外的美景,伴随着精良的服务,愉快的品尝大厨们精心烹饪的美食,这才是真正私密的高档餐饮体验。为了满足客人不同时段的用餐需求,酒店专设了充满惊喜的全天候自助餐厅——亚洲风尚,包含了印度、泰国、越南、日本等国的特色美食,并且定期会为客人呈现非同凡响的各国美食节。厨师们选取上等新鲜食材,依照客人的口味精心烹饪。融入生活和互动主题,现场烹饪,让视觉和听觉相互碰撞,散发出摄人诱惑力。如果想体验一下浪漫的烛光晚餐,那么不妨来二楼的扒房,这也是杭州唯一一家五星级的扒房,在这里倾听上等牛排、海鲜与美酒的动人故事,为您制造一段梦境中的完美邂逅。大堂和大堂吧的全新结合让酒廊多了实用性与功能性,巧妙地利用了空间为客人提供更加舒适的休闲体验。位于地下一层的急速V28,灵感源于当今科技,采用炫目华丽的大面积LCD电视平面墙,引领您进入时尚、动感的无限空间,无尽释放您的运动激情,脉搏随之振奋不已。
