 写作   英语佳句写作手法：倒转重复

请欣赏一句佳句：

      Bewho you are and say what you feel, because those who mind, don't 

matter, and those who matter, don't mind.  

   做真实的你，说出你的心声，因为那些介意你的人，其实是闲杂之辈，而

那些你在乎的人，你不必去介意。

  

  

  

注释：

         这是一句佳句，如果你注意句子的结构的话，你会发现句中的  “those who mind, 

don’t matter” 与“those who matter, don’tmind”相对称。在这两个对称结构中，

mind 与 matter 重复使用，而且使用顺序倒转，这种写作手法英语中称之chiasmus。

         我们知道，在句中连续使用同样的词或短语有时可以起到强调语义的作用。 如果将两个相

对应的词或短语反过来重复，称之倒转重复。巧妙地利用倒转重复不但能使句子结构对称，增

加句子的美感，还能增强语气，使语义具有感召力。

 

倒转重复表达形式是：   ……A……B……, ……B……A…….

   

      如果你的英语谚语和名言感兴趣的话，你会发现这种倒转重复手法在英语谚语和名言中比

比皆是。

 

1）Live not to eat, but eat to live. 

不要为吃饭而活着，而要为活着而吃饭。

2）Where there is marriage without love,there will be love without marriage. 

有没有爱情的婚姻，就有没有婚姻的爱情。

      3）Content makes poor men rich; discontentment makes rich men poor.

            知足使贫穷的人富有；而贪婪使富足的人贫穷。

   4）Experience without learning is better than learning without excperience.

           有经验而无学问胜于有学问而无经验。

      5）Charm is a woman’s strength just as strengthis a man’s charm.

            魅力是女人的力量，正如力量是男人的魅力。

   6）Climbmountains not so the world can see you, but so you can see the world.

            爬上山顶并不是为了让全世界看到你，而是让你看到整个世界。

      7）Ask not what your countrycan do for you; ask what you can do for your country.

           不要问国家能为你做些什么，而要问你能为国家做些什么。
