A beautiful true love story
But there was another problem: The man was a soldier. Soon, warbroke out and he was
being sent overseas for a year. The week before he left,the man knelt on his knee and asked
his lady love, “Will you marry me?” She wipeda tear, said yes, and they were engaged. They
agreed that when he got back inone year, they would get married.

ace muscles was damaged. Her once lovely face wasnow disfigured. She cried as she saw
herself in the mirror. “Yesterday, I wasbeautiful. Today, I’m a monster.” Her body was also
covered with so many uglywounds. Right there and then, she decided to release her fiancé
from theirpromise. She knew he wouldn’t want her anymore. She would forget about him and
never see him again.
后来，她发现她自己是脑损伤。控制她的脸部肌肉的那部分大脑受损，她那张人见人爱

For one year, the soldier wrote many letters — but she wouldn’t answer. He phoned her
many times but she wouldn’t return her calls.
一年之中，这位士兵小伙子给她写了许多信，她就是不回复。他给她打许多次电话，她
也不回电话。
But after one year, the mother walked into her room and announced,“He’s back from the
war.” The girl shouted, “No! Please don’t tellhim about me. Don’t tell him I’m here!”
一年后，母亲走进她的房间告诉她说，“他已从战场上回来了”。姑娘大声说道。“不!
不要把我的情况告诉他，别告诉他我在这里。”
The mother said, “He’s getting married,” and handed her a weddinginvitation. The girl’s
heart sank. She knew she still loved him — but she hadto forget him now. With great sadness,
she opened the wedding invitation. Andthen she saw her name on it!
母亲又对她说，“他要结婚了”，说着递给她一个婚礼请帖。姑娘的心碎了，她知道自
己还爱着他，可是现在她必须忘了他。怀着较大悲伤，她打开了婚礼请帖，赫然看到请帖上
写着她的名字!
Confused, she asked, “What is this?”
“怎么回事？”她困惑不已。
That was when the young man entered her room with a bouquet offlowers. He knelt beside
her and asked, “Will you marry me?”
就在这时候，这位年轻小伙子拿一束鲜花走进了她的房间。他跪在她身旁问道：“你
愿意嫁给我吗?”
The girl covered her face with her hands and said, “I’m ugly!”
姑娘用手掌捂着脸说，“我丑!”
The man said, “Without your permission, your mother sent me yourphotos. When I saw
your photos, I realized that nothing has changed. You’restill the person I fell in deep love.
You’re still as beautiful as ever.Because I love you!”
小伙子答道，“没有问你的允许，你妈妈把你的照片寄给了我。我看到你的照片，我
想没有什么可改变的，你仍然是我深爱的人。你还是像以前一样美丽，因为我爱你!”
