英语中表示“注定”、“必定”的三个句式

A.  be destined to do sth.

 be destined for sth.

这二个句式都表示“注定是……”，“必定要……”的意思。 destined 作形容词是“命

中注定”的意思，因此这二个句式用法上侧重于命中注定。

1）Being blind and deaf, Helen Keller seemed destined to spend her life in misery, 

     but she was never reconciled to the fate

     海伦·凯勒失明耳聋，她好像命中注定一生痛苦，但她从不甘心命运。

2）Strive to change your own fate. Never believe the notion that if one is born poor,

     one is destined to die poor.

     努力去改变你自己的命运。千万不要去相信这样的说法：如果一个人生来贫穷，那他注

     定要贫穷着死去。

3）Some people succeed because they are destined to, but most people succeed

because they are determined to.  —— Henry Van Dyke      （destined to 后省

略了succeed）                                                   

有些人成功，是因为他们命中注定要成功；但绝大部分人成功，是因为他们下定决心要

成功。 

4）Many artists predict that this brilliant young actor is destined to be a shinning

star.

     许多艺术家预言，这位出类拔萃的年青演员必定会为一名闪耀的明星。

5）If you absolutely believe that you are destined to be a great success in life,

you  will think and behave accordingly, and you will make it come true.

     如果你坚信自己必定会是一个成功人士，那么你就会朝着这个方向努力并最终实现

这个目标。

6）Coming from a theatrical family, I was destine for a career on the stage.

我生於戏剧工作者之家，注定了我的舞台生涯。

7）I’ll never regret what I have done. Perhaps it was destined for my repeated

failures.

     我永远不会后悔我所做的一切,也许命中注定我要一再失败。

8）It seems to me that their marriage is destined for the divorce count.

     在我看来，他们的婚姻是注定要上离婚法庭的。

B.   be bound to do sth.  

      表示“一定会”、“必定会”的意思。这一句式表示主观意愿，强调某事或某种情况必

      然会发生（指将来）。

1）The financial problems are getting worse and they are bound to deepen the

     eventual collapse of the company.

     经济问题越来越糟，它们必定会加快公司最终的崩毁。

2）We are confident that our team is bound to win the champion of the league

     matches.

     我们坚信我们的球队一定会赢得联赛比赛的冠军。

3）In the long run prices are bound to rise.

     从长远看，物价肯定要涨。

4）This proposal is bound to be rejected by the most directors at the board

meeting.

     在董事局会议上这个提案必然会遭到大多数董事的反对。

5）I’m sure that our service is bound to be improved significantly in the near

future. 

我相信我们的服务一定能在短时期内获得显著的提高。

6）With the development of internet, streaming media is bound to be the major

     technology.

     着网络的发展，流媒体将成为未来的主流技术。

C.  be doomed to  sth.                                     

be doomed to do sth.

这二个句式也可表示“注定”、“必定”的意思，用于指遭到不好的、不幸的结果。

1）From the start, his plan was doomed to failure.

     From the start, his plan was doomed to fail.

     从一开始, 他的计划就注定要失败。

2）If effective measures are not to be taken, this species of bird is doomed to

     extinction.

     If effective measures are not to be taken, this species of bird is doomed to

     become extinct.

     如果不采取有效措施，这类鸟类注定要灭绝。

3）The delusion would doubtlessly filled her small head with expectations doomed 

to disappointment.

这种迷惘无疑会使她的小脑袋里充满了命定会化为泡影的期望。

4）In our lives, something is doomed to be lost and some love is doomed to

yield no result. 

在我们的生命中有些东西注定要失去的, 有些缘份是永远不会有结果的。

5）He had never imagined that his family be doomed to suffer this bad situation.

     他从来没有想到厄运就这样降临在自己家里。

6）The plan was doomed to fail by their refusal to give it any financial support.

由于他们拒绝给予任何资助, 该计划注定要失败。

7）I somehow get the impression that I am doomed not to succeed in my

training course.

不知怎的，我觉得我注定不能在我的训练课上取得成功。
