The October WPI inflation was lower than the Reuters forecast of 8.70% and 10.70% recorded in the previous month.

NEW DELHI : The value of Iran’s export to India increased by 40 percent in the first eight months of 2022, from the same period of time in 2021, IRNA reported citing the data released by the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
As reported, Iran exported commodities worth $407 million to India in the eight-month period of this year, while the figure was $290 million in the same time span of the past year.
Petroleum products and fruits were the major products Iran exported to India in the said period. Iran exported $102 million worth of petroleum products and $101 million of fruits to India in the mentioned time span.
During January-August of the present year, India’s export to Iran also increased 56 percent to stand at $1.384 billion, while the figure was $886 million in the first eight months of 2021.
Rice and tea were India’s major products exported to Iran in the said period during which the country shipped $913 million worth of rice and $63 million worth of tea to the Islamic Republic. indiashippingnews

NEW DELHI: Sembcorp Industries on Sunday said it is acquiring Vector Green Energy, a Global Infrastructure Partners India-backed independent renewable power producer, for a base equity consideration of $474 million or roughly Rs 2,780 crore.
Sembcorp said the acquisition will be funded through internal cash resources and external borrowings. The acquisition will raise Sembcorp’s gross renewables portfolio installed and under development in India to 3GW consisting of 1GW solar and 2GW wind assets, it said.

Malaysia's benchmark crude palm oil prices reached a record high of 7,268 ringgit ($1,586.21) a tonne in March, but prices have tumbled by about 40% since.
The MPOC forecast Malaysia's 2022 crude palm oil production would shrink for a third year to 18.08 million tonnes, compared with 18.1 million tonnes last year. It sees Indonesia's production rising to 46.6 million tonnes from 44.7 million tonnes in 2021. TOI

NEW DELHI: S&P Global Ratings on Thursday said about half of the Indian companies that it rates are getting a boost in their core profitability from rupee depreciation.
"Much of our rated India corporate portfolio has sizable US-dollar linked revenue and, therefore, is not exposed to rupee depreciation.
This encompasses entities in the IT, metals, and chemicals sectors. About half of the firms we rate are getting an EBITDA boost from currency weakening," the US-based rating agency said in a report. TOI
