状语从句
上一篇文章我们一起学习了并列复合句，现在我们来接着学习另外一种复合句——状语从句。状语从句中，两个句子之间不是并列关系，而是从属关系，因此用从属连词来连接。我们通常把状语从句分为九种。下面为大家一一详解。
1.时间状语从句
时间状语从句的连词（引导词）通常为when、while、as、since、as soon as、before、after、till、until.
还有一些特殊的连词（引导词），如 the minute、the second、the moment、the instant、the day、every time、immediately、directly、instantly、no sooner...than、hardly...when/before、scarcely...when/before等。均可译为“一...就...”
例句：
Henry was doing his homework when his father got home.
I start studying as soon as I wake up every day.
The boy run away the second he saw the bandit.
Jenny had hardly slept when her parents .（主句用过去完成时，从句用一般过去时。）
My teacher had scarcely come into the classroom before the bell rang. （主句用过去完成时，从句用一般过去时。）
The pupil had no sooner arrived home than he was asked to do his homework. （主句用过去完成时，从句用一般过去时。）
2.地点状语从句
地点状语从句的连词（引导词）通常为where。
还有一些特殊的连词（引导词），如 wherever、anywhere、everywhere等。
例句：
I want to go where Jack went last year.
Wherever he was,he thought of his homeland.
3.条件状语从句
条件状语从句的连词（引导词）通常为if、unless、as long as、once。
还有一些特殊的连词（引导词），如providing/provided that、suppose/supposing that、only if、in case that、on condition that、in the event that等。
I won’t go to the park if it rains tomorrow.
I won’t pick you up at the airport unless you buy a gift for me.
You can sleep in my bed as long as you like.
I will send you my address once I find somewhere to live.
I would like to come and see you on Saturday,supposing I don’t have to work that day.
4.原因状语从句
原因状语从句的连词（引导词）通常为because、as、since。
还有一些特殊的连词（引导词），如seeing that、considering that、given that、now that、in that等。
例句：
Jack didn’t buy a birthday present for his father because he had no time.
Now that everyone is here,we begin our lesson.
I like watching English movies in that it can improve my English.
Considering that he was hurt,I didn’t ask him to work on the farm.
