ADMT installation andconfigure steps

Source Forest: ccappstestsi4.net (Windows Server 2008 R2)

Target Forest: ccappstestsi28.net (Windows Server 2012 R2)

ADMT version:3.2

1. Setup trust for the 2 forest (2 wayforest trust)

2. Install "ADMT 3.2" onthe target forest domain

 a) Need to install SQL express first(only support SQL express 2005 with sp3 or SQL express 2008 with sp1 or later)

   b) Generate the .pesfile from the target forest and write down the key password after the ADMTinstalled on command line

admt key /option:create/sourcedomain:ccappstestsi4.net /keyfile:c:\si4.pes /keypassword:ccappstestsi28

   c) Copy the si4.pes fromtarget forest to the source forest       

3. Install the "pwdmig"file on the source forest as default and reboot the server

4. Add “Domain Admins” to localforest administrators group each other

5 Please be remembered to set the "PasswordExport Server Service" start automatically on the source server
