昨天我们讲了中国的幼儿园到中学的学制，今天我们来看看大学的学制是怎样的。
China has one of the largest higher education systems in the world. In terms of sheer numbers alone, it is the leader, with around 37 million students. 中国是世界上最大的高等教育体系之一。仅就数量而言，它名列第一，拥有约3700万学生。
College students apply through a central enrollment system: China’s Ministry of Education oversees all college applications. 报考大学的学生通过统一招生系统进行申请：中国教育部监督全部大学申请。
For most bachelor degrees of most universities in China, it takes 4 years of study. If you study a MBBS program in China,it may takes 5 or 6 years. 对于中国大多数大学的学士学位来说，需要4年的学习时间。如果你在中国学习MBBS课程，可能需要5或6年。(Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery是英国的医学学位的说法，M.D.（Doctor of Medicine)是美国的说法。
According to data from 2015 of the People's Republic of China Ministry of Education, there were 2,845 Chinese National Higher Institutions, including 2,553 National General Colleges and Universities and 292 Adult Higher Institutions. The number of enrolled college students including undergraduate students, master and PhD students was 23.91 million in 2012. 据中华人民共和国教育部2015年数据显示，全国高等学校2845所，其中普通高等学校2553所，成人高等学校292所。2012年在校大学生（包括本科生、硕士生和博士生）2391万人。
From 2010 to 2015, the Chinese graduates continued to increase dramatically with almost 7.5 million new graduates entering the job market in 2015. 2010年至2015年，中国毕业生继续大幅增长，2015年新增就业人口近750万人。
Investment in education accounted for about 4% of total GDP in China in 2015. The Chinese government has been more concerned about education, particularly higher education, in the last decades. 2015年，中国教育投资约占国内生产总值的4%。近几十年来，中国政府更加关注教育，特别是高等教育。
Thanks to the emphasis the government has placed on higher education, Chinese universities are slowly working their way up the university rankings. Tsinghua University, which is China’s highest placed university this year, has moved up more than 15 places in three years; in the 2016 QS World University Rankings, it ranked 25th. Peking University, currently ranked 41st in the QS World University Rankings and 7th in the Asian University Rankings, was the first modern national university in China. 在政府对高等教育相当重视的影响下，中国的大学正在慢慢提高其在大学中的排名。清华大学，中国今年排名最高的大学，在三年内上升了超过15位；在2016年的某世界大学排名中，排名第25位。北京大学目前在此世界大学排名中名列第41位，亚洲大学排名第7位，是中国第一所现代国立大学。
Tuition changes: China used to cover the costs of college students, but a new system is evolving, in which students compete for scholarships and some students pay part of their tuition. 学费变化：中国过去一直在支付大学生的费用，但随着新的制度正在逐渐演化，学生们开始为获得奖学金而展开竞争，一些学生支付部分学费。
There have been frequent criticisms of the rote memorization technique dominant in the Chinese education system. Many academics feel that while it produces excellent results in standard examinations, it can hinder creative and analytical thinking. As a result, students may not develop the problem-solving skills needed at university level. 对于死记硬背的学习方法在中国教育体系中占主导地位的批评屡见不鲜。许多学者认为，虽然它让学生们可以在标准考试中取得了优异的成绩，但却阻碍了他们的创造性和分析问题的能力的发展。因此，学生或许无法培养与大学水平相当的解决问题的能力。
China is the most popular destination for international students in Asia. 中国是最受国际学生欢迎的亚洲留学国家。
