W: Good morning, doctor.

M: Good morning, Ms. Thompson! What canI do for you?

W: I feel there’s something wrong withme, but I’m not sure.

M: Could you explain more?

W:I usually get a runny nose, watery eyes, scratchy throat and other symptoms onMonday. It will last for the following five days. And since I’m terribly busywith my work, I won’t have time to see the doctor. But when I do have time tosee the doctor on weekends, the symptoms will disappear all of a sudden!

M:And you will get same symptoms again next Monday?

W:Exactly.

M:How long have you been like this?

W:About one month.

M:Did anything special during the past four weeks?

W:Nothing special. Oh, wait! My company has moved from the old address to thepresent Mount Plaza.

M:Do your colleagues have the same trouble with you?

W:Well, some of them.

M:I see. You must be suffering from so-called sick building syndrome.

W:Sick building syndrome? You mean the building got sick and we have beeninfected?

M:You may put it that way. When a new building is just finished, the chemicalvapors being given off by glue, paint and other construction materials andmoisture can’t escape. The building, just like people, can’t breathe properly. So it gets sick. Some chemical vapors can even lead to cancer.

W:That’s terrible! Do you mean that it’s already too late for me to do anything?

M:Of course not. I suggest you and your colleagues should write a complaint tothe owner of the building. And I will write you a prescription to ease yoursymptoms.

W:Thank you, doctor. I’ll try.

M:I wish you good luck!

Questions9 to 11 are based on the conversation you have just heart.

W:Ham, ever since I was a little girl, I have wanted to fly like a bird; I’d liketo go back in time and meet Mozart; I’d also like to win the gold metal in thepole vaulting at the Olympic Games.

M:You’ve got so many of them! But soon all of these dreams will come true, thanksto the magic of Virtual Reality.

W: What is Virtual Reality?

M:Virtual Reality, or VR, is a computer system with a special head-set. When youput on the head-set, your mind will see the image as one picture.

W: Is it like when we play a game in avideo arcade today?

M:Much more fascinating. In the future, when you play a VR game, you will beright inside that world, just as in real life.

W: Sounds interesting. Have these gamesbeen introduced into video arcades nowadays?

M:Only some of them. They enable you to drive a sports car, fly a plane, or fightan enemy. They are similar to present arcade games, but much more realistic. Andas the technology develops, the games will become more and more amazing.

W: So you mean we would have more fun inplaying computer games?

M:Yes. However, VR is not just for entertainment. One day, children will learngeography by observing foreign countries without leaving their classroom. Carswill be designed and tested as “virtual” machines first, before they aremanufactured in mental. Architects will be able to build “virtual” buildingswhich they can walk around and inspect, before building them. VR can help us inhundreds of ways.

范文:

Howto be creative? It is said that to livea creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong, which, in my opinion, is an important element in becoming a creative thinker.Creativity is a problem-solving technique that can be nurtured and even enhancedif we focus on the following two points.

Thefirst one is to fully devote our selves to developing and sustainingcreativity. We need to adjust our mindset and believe in ourselves becausecreative ideas are inclined to confront resistance from those who feel eitheruncomfortable with or threatened by new changes. The second one is not to beafraid of making mistakes as is indicated in the saying. When it comes tocreativity, the man who does not make mistakes is unlikely to make anything. With mistakes comes the possibility of failure, but it is the possible failureand the perseverance to keep on trying that enhance our creative ability.

In a word, to be creative, we shouldeliminate negative thoughts that may hurt our creativity and fight against our fearof failure.
