今天我们要学习的是in hot water.

 

In hot water的意思并不是'在热水中'。它的确切意思是指某人或某些人处境困难,遇到非常麻烦的问题了。举个例子来说吧：

 

例句-1：'Joe is really in hot water now -- his girlfriend just found out he's seeing another woman.'

 

这句话的意思是：'乔伊现在可是难办了，因为他的女朋友最近发现他另外还有一个女朋友。'

 

我们再举一个例子：

 

例句-2：'That movie actor tried to cheat on his income tax, but he got caught and now he's in hot water with the government.'

 

这是说：'那个电影演员想在缴纳所得税的时候弄虚作假，可是给税务局发现了。现在，他可麻烦了。'

1.Do you like to help others?

In my opinion, Helping others is a process which I could lend a helping hand on others’ problems to get them out of hot water, during this time, it’s also a chance for myself to exam what I haven’t master. I would usually try my best to do so.

帮助别人,不但可以解决别人的燃眉之急，在这个过程中，我也可以找到一个检验自我的机会。我通常都会尽力去帮助别人的。

2.Do you think young children should be taught to help others?

Frankly, Young children they are kids who lack of experience on the society, they might get themselves into hot water while their good nature being used by some individuals with ill purposes. Or even worse, life threatening dangers could be the consequence due to their growing body which is lack of strength or capability to help others at all. They Should be instructed to ask for help from adults instead.

孩子们缺少社会经验，他们善良的天性或许会被一些不怀好意的人利用，而陷入困境。情况更严重的是，因为不顾自身力量和能力不足而救人，会陷入性命攸关的麻烦。还是应该教导他们向成年人求助。
