One of the UK’s most famous divorce lawyers has backed a change in legislation but urged schools to do more to help young people be more practical about marriage.
英国的一名有名的离婚律师最近支持立法方面的一些改变并呼吁学校做更多的事情来从实际上，在婚姻方面帮助年轻人们。
Baroness Shackleton of Belgravia wants schools to help pupils view marriage as “the most important decision they make”.

“It’s not just about the heart,” said the lawyer, who has represented Prince Charles and Sir Paul McCartney.

“It’s a practical arrangement . . . which has to survive to rear children.”

Under the current system in England and Wales, a couple has to prove in court that their marriage has irretrievably broken down.
在英国和威尔士的现行法律系统下，一对夫妇必须向法院证明他们的婚姻已经不可挽回地破裂了才能离婚。
They must prove this by citing one of five grounds, including adultery, unreasonable behaviour or desertion.
他们要证明的方式必须援引五大情形之一，包括通奸，不合理行为或者遗弃。
The other “non-fault” grounds are living apart for two years if both spouses consent or five years if one does not.
另外的“非过错”情形包括夫妻双方都同意的要分居两年，而一方不同意的要分居五年。
Baroness Shackleton, a divorce lawyer for more than 40 years and a solicitor to Princes William and Harry, said that the current divorce law was “archaic” and couples currently had to “exaggerate or to agree” to get a divorce.
沙克尔顿公爵，成为一名离婚律师已经四十多年了，并且曾是威廉姆和哈里王子的律师，她说现行离婚法律过于陈旧，以至于夫妇们不得不“夸大其词或私下协议”来离婚。
However, she told us that “it is no good just changing divorce laws to dissolve the marriage” and that reform was also needed on laws around sorting out finances during a divorce.

She is supporting a bill proposed by her fellow peer Baroness Deech which could replace the current system for splitting money in divorce cases.

Baroness Shackleton was speaking after research from University of Exeter set out ten critical questions for couples to gauge if a relationship might stand the test of time.

The study found that the best marriages were built on friendship, respect, realistic expectations, shared interests and humour.

To avoid the “untold grief” of separations, she hoped that the research would be introduced in schools, and that they would devote “just a little time to get students to focus on what is the most important decision they make, which is basically who they breed with”.
为了避免离婚带来的“无法言说的痛苦”，她希望这项研究能够被引入学校里，并希望他们能“花哪怕一点点时间来让学生们关注他们所做的最重要的决定，也就是跟谁一起养育后代。”
