值得让更多人看到的十句话，看起来鸡汤，实际实用

你曾经的老师说过的哪句话印象最为深刻，对你影响较大甚至在十多年或更久之后都记在心里？

Duke 一个很可爱的教 Finance 的老教授在最后的期末试卷上说给我们的话：

1）We judge ourselves by what we feel capable of doing. Others judge us by what we've already done.

我们用“我能做到什么”来判断和定位自己，而别人用“你已经做过什么”来判断和定位你。

（这句让我感触最深，做到了什么真的比你以为自己能做到什么重要的多。不要觉得我只是不屑、不想或还没努力，事实就只有你“做到了”和“没做到”两种区别而已。）

2）Press on. Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not: unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education alone will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

世界上没有任何东西可以替代毅力。才干不可以，无所作为的能人十分普遍；天分不可以，碌碌无为的天才尽人皆知；教育不可以，受过良好教育的没落者更是随处可见。只有毅力和决心是无所不能的。

3) Going in one more round when you don't think you can --- that's what makes all difference in your life.

当你觉得不行的时候要再努力一把 --- 这是让你人生变得完全不同的关键

4) Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get.

成功是得到你想要的。幸福是想要你得到的。

5) The true measure of a person can be determined by watching him closely and observing how he treats people who can do him absolutely no good.

要真正评判一个人，就去看他是怎么对待那些不能给他带来任何利益的人。

6) In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

最终，你得到的爱和你创造的爱是相等的。

再补充几个我个人喜欢的，凑齐十个。这几个也都是我这几年所践行并感受深刻的，觉得值得让更多人看到。

7）Start with what is right rather than what is acceptable.

做正确的选择，而不只是可以接受的选择。

（做正确的选择往往意味着要付出更多，可能是条更难走的路。但可以接受的选择往往会导致之后很长时间的迷茫、痛苦和没有生活的动力。正确的选择就像是一个有着重重障碍但很长的跑道，而简单的可以接受的事情就像是一个没有障碍的死胡同。）

8）Start Before You Feel Ready：If you’re working on something important, then you’ll never feel ready. A side effect of doing challenging work is that you’re pulled by excitement and pushed by confusion at the same time.

不要等都准备好再开始：如果你要做一件很重要的事情，那你总会觉得自己还没有做好准备。挑战性工作本身就是会让你被兴奋所吸引和被困惑所推动。

9）In the moment it is hard to see how a particular moment in your life makes sense. But looking back many years later, you’ll often be able to connect the dots and see how everything you went through was critical in leading you to the place you are now.

在当下你很难看出你所做的事情所具有的意义。但是多年以后回头看的时候，你会发现所有你经历过的事情、做出的选择都对你现在所处的位置起着决定性的作用。

（那年脑残选的专业？第一份想着试试看的实习？第一份不怎么喜欢的工作？这些真的都决定了你人生之后的方向。）

10）There is no substitute for living a life you love. Start now..it will only get harder to change.

没有什么东西比过自己喜欢的生活更重要了。从现在开始吧！拖越久要改变就会越难。（共勉）
