英语口语：Shoulder season是什么season？

“相对于淡旺季的平季！”

你是这样“学”英语的吗？

我们大量反复“学习”英语的目的，是训练我们见到一句英语后努力去想“我能用上哪些学过的英语表达它，从而能把自己学过的英语用起来熟能生巧？”，“这句英语能让我用到哪些学过的英语词汇？”，而不是一开口就是一句中文：中文什么意思？

明明是在学英语，也是在“说”英语“用英语”，你却是在不断“用”中文，然后希望“自己的英语好起来”。这是一种“悖论”。

1) 我们来看英英字典里出现了哪些我们学过的英语：

Shoulder season 1：A shoulder season is a travel season between peak and off-peak seasons, especially spring and fall, when fares tend to be relatively low.

Shoulder season 2：A shoulder season is a travel period between peak and off-peak seasons.

Shoulder season 2：A shoulder season is the period in between a destination's low and high seasons of tourism, making prices cheaper for hotels and airfare and crowds smaller at popular attractions. 

2) 学过的英语“恍然大悟”(Okay. I got you)：

表达shoulder season同样的意思，有的英英字典用词时说的是我们学过的英语 between peak seasons and off-peak seasons，如果你“不懂”  peak seadon and off-peak season，有的英英字典用词则说 low and high seasons of tourism.

你会不会顺口来一句英语：Okay.Got it.Peak seasons and off-peak seasons means low and high seasons？

难道你的习惯依旧是先把英语peak and off-peak seadon翻译成中文“旺淡季”，又把英语low and high season同样翻译成中文“旺淡季”？

你这叫“说中文”，不是“说英语”“用英语”！养成“坏”习惯，学英语必定事倍功半。

切记：学英语哪里只是为了做到“中文意思是什么”？ 是为了训练做到“英语意思怎么说”的能力。不通过大量学英语把这个能力训练出来，事实将证明：你用中文“懂得”再多的英语也是等于零。
