英语阅读：英国新冠死亡人数破10万 10million died

一、你打算“怎么读”？

“读成”中文呗！还能“怎么读”？

英国累计新冠死亡病例已经突破10万例。这是截止1月15日基于死亡证明统计的数据。英国政府每日报告的数据是基于新冠病毒阳性报告统计的，相比之下数据会略低一些。

The United Kingdom has recorded more than 100,000 COVID-19 deaths since the pandemic began, BBC reported, citing the data from the UK's national statisticians. The figures, which include deaths up to January 15, are based on death certificates. The government's daily figures rely on positive tests and are slightly lower, said the report.

1) 我们的英语如果真想借英语“英语学习”(if any at all)提高英语，还真的不就是完全借助中文“学”几句街头英语(用不上的)就跑mission completed了：表面你用中文“懂了”，实际用英语“懂”的能力你可能“连窝都没挪过一下”：The United Kingdom用中文“懂”没问题，“太简单了”，“谁不知道是英国的意思？”。

可是，就是这么一个“太简单了”的英语，你可能张口能说The United Kingdom means The UK的能力连起步都说不上。

“用”中文“懂”没事了是吗？

“说”英语呢？

不“读成”中文，“读成”这样的英语，是否可以呢？

相信很多人估计连100,000除了“能读成”中文“十万”外，能“说”英语million都困难。但是，你把million写出来，他马上就说：懂！学过！

3) COVID-19 deaths since the pandemic began

没错，大家把英语COVUD-19和the pandemic“分别读成”中文“新冠”和“疫情”是没问题的，而且，而且，这样的“阅读”也会让他们“深信”：我“懂”英语了。

可是，让他们把这些学过的已知的英语用起来：他们又会马上感到“我英语0起步了”：

这样的“英语阅读”能力因为“用中文读懂”被彻底“屏蔽”掉了。

让他通过COVID-19“主动使用”学过的epidemic的，中国在pandemic出现之前普遍使用的英语更是“不可能”，更别说能让他们能一个字母不错地拼写这个单词了。但是，你把它写出来时，他又会说：我学过呀！我懂它的意思呀！

但是，离开了中文，他们的英语其实“什么也不会”。

我是绝对不会分别“依赖”中文“懂得”英语data,statistics,figure“什么意思”的。

“没有”中文，我一样“懂”英语：

1.Okay.I got you.If you cite data,you cite the statistics,or cite the figures,or the information.

“说”这么多英语，足够用它们“互为解释”“互为理解”了：越依赖中文，英语越弱。

2.Okay.I got you.If you cite something from something else,you take sone information,some data,some figures from it.

这样“用”英语“读懂”英语cite不是很好吗？为什么每次(甚至一辈子)见到英语cite就是中文“援引”不可呢？

所以说，英语阅读不是“读什么”问题，是”怎么读”问题。

最后，有多少人见到本文图片里的那个英语Coronavius时，会熟练地“使用”英语COVID-19，或者pandemic,epidemic的？

恐怕没有：有的只是(永远是)中文“新冠”！
