高考英语作文的评分规则有大量的文字进行说明，甚至阅卷老师也未必记得住那么多，但把这些规则简化之后，可以得出以下两大块：
第一块：内容得分。内容是否合理，是否包含写作要求中的所有要点，这部分大约会占60%的分数。也就是说即使你没有用到较多的高级词汇和高级语法结构，甚至有较多的语法错误（但不影响老师理解你的内容），合理的甚至是精彩的内容也可以让你拿到60%左右的分数。当然，语法错误很多的同学一般来说也做不到内容的完整且合理。
第二块：文采得分。在这一块，满分作文主要须满足以下四个要求：1. 没有或几乎没有语法及用词等方面的错误；2. 用了较多的高级词汇；3. 用了较多的高级语法项目，句式灵活多变。4. 行文连贯。
从本篇范文来看，内容自然是完整且合理的，在文采方面：第一，完全没有语法及用词等方面的错误；第二，高级词汇方面，用了owing to （取代because of）， 还有urgent紧急的，do sb a favor（取代help sb），purchase（取代buy）等等；第三，高级语法方面，用到了非谓语动词（before signing）, 定语从句（which is expected to arrive tomorrow），状语从句（in case...），情态动词加have done（might have been damaged）等高级语法项目，句式灵活多变；第四，so, If so等起到很好的衔接作用，上下文连贯。
