Speaking your mind is often considered risky, while staying silent is seen as the safest option. This is what one of my closest friends sincerely told me.

However, what he fails to realize is that when we all choose to remain silent, we are actually putting ourselves at risk collectively.

I should be all right. You should be all right. They all should be all right.

Then what’s wrong with this community?

The answer is in the wind.

Who would be my companions? Similar to me, they detest artificial flowers, fabricated tales, deception, and infidelity. They would have embraced the serenity of solitude and find solace and joy amidst books. When they delve into Scriptures, they will relentlessly explore their own beliefs and convictions.

A prime illustration of embracing carefree contentment is found in Tao Qian, whose collection of works I finally own. It brings me a unique form of happiness. Such literature has the power to stimulate my imagination, allowing me to envision alternative lives we could lead. Through this imaginative realm, we find solace and contentment with our current existence. Superficially, these two lives appear contradictory, but deep within, they coexist harmoniously.

As I awakened in the morning, my mind immediately drifted to the dream that occupied my night’s slumber. In that realm, I transformed into a different version of myself: courageous, wise, attractive, and capable, facing every challenge with a heroic demeanor. However, as reality engulfed me, I swiftly reverted back to my ordinary self. I immersed myself in reading, work, and the inevitable complaints, succumbing to the cacophony of the world. I am painfully aware of my helplessness in the face of numerous things. Oh, dear God, grant me the ability to dream a more grounded and attainable aspiration.
