Well, we always have eggs for breakfast, and there are many ways of preparing them, so we are gonna learn what the different ways are.
我们早餐经常吃鸡蛋，鸡蛋的烹饪方法有很多种，所以我们要学习不同的方法。

Alright, we’re back. Let’s look at some useful tips that help you improve your English pronunciation.

1. 弱读：for
对话中：
My dad had scrambled eggs every morning for twenty years.
弱读分析：
在句子中，意思相对不重要的单词，可以进行弱读，这样发音的时候会比较省力，比如介词可以进行弱读。像这里的for /fɔːr/, 可以弱读为/fər/，/ə/发音时舌头自然放松放平在口腔。
复述：

2. 辅元连读: When I
弱读：for
对话中：
When I ask for soft boiled eggs, ...
辅元连读：
两个单词相邻时，前一个单词词尾是辅音，后一个单词开头是元音的时候，可以作辅元连读。
连读分析：
When /wen/+I /aɪ/ (/n/是辅音，/aɪ/是元音，辅音+元音=辅元连读)，连读为/wenaɪ/。
弱读分析：
for /fɔːr/, 可以弱读为/fər/。
复述：
When I ask for soft boiled eggs.

Our first word is “picky”.

1. picky /ˈpɪki/ adj. 挑剔的
So if you are picky, you’re hard to please, and you want everything to be perfect.

Okay, so if your boss is picky and you give him a report, and maybe it has a couple of mistakes or something, he'll say “Do it again. Change this, this and this.”

Now, our next word, “yolk”.

So this word is actually not in the dialogue, but it's important.

Okay, so if you have an egg, the yellow part is called the yolk.

And the other part is the white. The white, or also called the egg white.

So we also heard a couple of different ways of describing how you prepare eggs. Let's take a look at them.

Okay, so our first preparation method，“sunny side up”.

3. sunny side up 太阳蛋
So why is it called sunny side up?

When you fry an egg, the yolk looks like a little sun.

But you don't cook the yolk. The yolk is still yellow. It's still a little bit liquid and soft.

Okay, and the opposite would be a fried egg.

And that's our second one, “fried eggs”.

So you put the egg in the pan, and you cook it all the way through.

So the yolk is not liquid anymore, becomes hard. That's a fried egg.
所以蛋黄不再是流体状的了，变固体了。这就是a fried egg（煎蛋）。
All right, so now let's take a look at our next method, “soft boiled eggs”.

5. soft boiled eggs 溏心蛋
Okay, so you put the egg in boiling water to make it cook.

And you usually put it in for three or four minutes to be soft boiled.

So you only cook part of the egg, the yolk stays a little bit wet, a little bit liquid.

Okay. So again, the opposite would be a hard boiled egg.

6. hard boiled eggs 煮鸡蛋
So the hard boiled egg is when you cook the entire egg again.

Then it's hard like a ball.

So with soft boiled and hard boiled eggs, it takes us to our next form, “eggs and soldiers”.

7. eggs and soldiers 鸡蛋和“士兵”（由黄油烤面包和溏心蛋组成的英式早餐）
Now, this is really interesting. It kind of sounds like you're having eggs with a group of soldiers from the army.

Well, this is a very British way of eating eggs. So you have your soft boiled egg in a cup, and you have a piece of toast, but the toast is cut into long pieces.

And then you take those pieces and you dip them into the egg yolk. It’s delicious.

And this takes us to our last form of egg preparation and probably the most popular. “Scrambled eggs”.

8. scrambled eggs 炒鸡蛋
So you break eggs into a bowl, so the yolk and the white are mixed together, add some milk.

And then heat the pan, add butter to the pan and swirl it around until it melts, pour in egg mixture, and then you just move them all over the place.

All right, so we've looked at a lot of egg preparation, and now we can look at some great phrases.

This is a very descriptive phrase, and I think if we listen to some examples, it will help us understand the meaning.

Example one
This music is driving me crazy. Turn it down.

Example two
Your mom is driving me crazy. She keeps calling me.

All right, so if something drives you crazy, it makes you feel very angry or annoyed, frustrated.

Okay, our last phrase for today, “dip in/into”.
