~ Lesson 4 ~Prepositions (介词) ~

Prepositions relate one thing toanother and are always followed by a noun or a pronoun. 介词关系一件事到另外一件事，总是后跟名词或代词. Prepositions often refer to the positions of things. 介词往往是指事物的位置) 例子: 1. The cat is onthe bed. (on)…

 

例子：2。The ball is under the bed.('under' is a preposition）

3。Jana is in the bed. (‘In’ is a preposition 介词)

 

^^The prepositions under and in allrefer to the bed and show the relationships between the ball and Jana to thebed. 以上介词‘under’ 和‘in’是指床与球和Jana的关系。

 

～Some commonprepositions include: in, on, up, under, over, across, behind, past, down,near, into, at, on top, next to, of, in between. 一些常见的介词包括：里面，在上面，上，下或底下，越过或过，身后或后面，过去，下，近或旁边，into，在，在上面，旁边，的，在两者之间 ~

 

~ Prepositional phrases begin with apreposition. Remember that phrases do not contain a verb. (介词词组开头是介词。请记住，词组不包含动词。）～比如：1。 They travelledtowards the city. (‘Towards the city'是介词词组）

2.The woman in the red hat is overthere. (‘In the red hat‘）~

 

Some prepositions can also beadverbs. (有些介词也可以是副词) Remember thatprepositions are always followed by a noun or pronoun and relate one thing toanother. (请记住，介词总是后跟名词或代词和关系的一件事到另一件事) 例子：I was behind(adverb), I was behind the trees (prep.)

 

~ They walked around (around=adverb).They walked around the block (around=preposition); around can be an adverb or apreposition ('around' 是副词也可以是介词）～

3. I put my shoes on top of thecupboard.

~ The Preposition Phrases ~

 

1.   On the trip over the desert the travellers moved throughdifficult terrain. (在沙漠里的探险家必须越过险要的地势）（Preposition phrase is 'on the trip', 'over the desert','difficult terrain') ***

 

2.   They followed the path over the hill to the blue lake near thehomestead. (他们随着山的路径到宅基地附近的蓝湖）（Preposition Phrases is 'over the hill to the blue lake near thehomestead) **Remember Preposition Phrase does not contain a verb)

 

 

3.   I ran down the road and Julie followed on her bike. (我在路上 跑， 朱莉骑着自行车跟在后面）（PrepositionPhrases - 'down the road', 'on her bike'. ^^
