There is在这里表示“存在”的意思，也就是中文常说的“有”。因此there is可以表示“……地方有……”。
中文：我有一只猫。
英文：I have a cat .
have 在这里用来表示“拥有东西”。
“There is” 与 “have"都表示有的意思，区别是 there be是静态的，而have却是动态的。
英文句子一定要有动词，am / are / is＝“是”的意思，是 be 动词 。
have 也是动词，是“拥有”的意思，是一个实义动词。
