新目标八年级下册Unit 2 Reading教学设计与反思
一:教材分析:本课是新目标英语八年级下册第2单元阅读部分,本单元的语言目标是“Talk about problems and give advice”(谈论问题并给出建议),学习should/could+动词原形来表示征求和提供建议的方法。这篇阅读文谈论了当今世界上存在的一个严重的问题——压力问题。尤其是学生们感到的压力更大。在教学本节课时,我采用通过师生对话,引导学生发现问题、分析问题、解决问题来获得知识,强调自学与合作学习,在完成任务的同时学习语言。同时在阅读文章,理解文章,分析文章之后做适当扩展和延伸。让学生们在学完本课后,学会在学习和生活中遇到压力时,会正确对待,并找出好的办法缓解压力。
二:教学目标:(1)知识目标:学习词汇 football,until,fit, include, pushy, push, send, compare, crazy, themselves, adult, freedom和短语take…to…., not…until…,fit…into…
Complain about…, take part in…, all kind of .compare… with …, on the one hand. … On the other hand,
(2)能力目标:
1,通过本篇阅读的学习,使学生能够在工具书的帮助下,完成阅读任务,并形成一种技能,为终身学习打下基础。
2,提高学生思考问题和解决问题的能力。学会合作学习,互相帮助完成学习任务。
3,通过阅读了解英美国家的父母和孩子所面临的压力问题,用本单元所学的重点句型来解决生活中的问题。
(3)情感目标:
1,让学生学会正视生活中的压力,并找出好的办法缓解压力。
2,培养独立自主自立自强的精神。碰到问题不退缩,想办法解决问题,不能解决的应该求助于父母,朋友,亲戚或者心理医生。
三:教学重难点:
重点:掌握本课的重点词汇,短语于句型
难点:利用词典理解生词在句中的意思,并理解文章的意思。
四:教学方法:小组讨论,自主学习
五:教学步骤:
Step One: Leading in
1. The teacher asks some students the questions. What do you do after school every day? What do you usually do at home on weekends? Quit a few students answer: They spend more time doing homework instead of doing sports and they feel very tired.
2. The teacher says: ok! I know you are very tired. You have much homework to do. Like English homework, math homework, Chinese homework, history homework, and so on. You have to study for tests. For your future, you have to study harder and get higher grades. So you are under too much pressure. You need to find some ways to relax. Now,. Please open your books to Page16.
Step Two: Pre-task
1. Please look at section 1.1a. Ask: Do you often do after---school activities? What after---school activities do you often do? Say; please complete the boxes of section 1. 1a.
2. Work in groups. The students discuss and complete the boxes.
3. The teacher say: For understand the ideas or the text, please look at the words. Do you know their ideas? If not, please look up them in a dictionary and
Check (√) each one when you understand.
Step Three:  While-task
1.The teacher say: You feel unhappy because you are under too pressure in school
Do you want to know the students’ lives in other countries?
2 The students read the text quickly and answer the following questions.
①Who is Cathy Taylor? (A mother of 3 children)
②Why is she so busy? Do the children have free time?
③What do teachers complain about the kids?( They complain about teaching tired students)
④What do the children do after school? What activities do they usually take part in?
⑤Who is Dr Alice Green? (A psychologist) What does she say? What else do children need? (On the one hand, children need organized activities. On the other hand, they need time and freedom to relax, they also need understand from parents)
3. Get the students to read the passage once more with the following statements in mind, and then do TRUE or FALSE!
1) Cathy Taylor’s three children are very free, and they often get home early.( F )
2)The Taylors never take their children to after---school activities or try to fit as much as possible into their kids’ lives.( F )
3) Parents see other children taking part in after---school clubs, but they think their own children should relax.( F )
4) Parents never compare their own kids with other children.( F )
5) Linda Miller thinks that the pushy parents’ action is right.( F   )
6) Dr Alice Green thinks that the parents shouldn’t plan their kids’ lives.( T   )
Step Four: Post-task
⑴ First,  let the students find the following works and phrase in the article, and then read the new words and expressions by themselves ;Then the teacher correct mistakes if any.
Not…until 直到…才 it’s time for…该是……的时候 fit 适合;适应as much as possible尽可能多under pressure 有压力
complain about抱怨 take part in 参加 include 包括,包含
pushy 一意孤行的 send to 发送到 all kinds of 各种;许多compare ….with 和…比较 crazy 疯狂的 push督促
themselves 他们自己adult 成年人on the one hand 在一方面organized 有组织的on the other hand 在另一方面freedom 自由
⑵ Ask the students to read the passage after the tape by themselves .(Teacher doesn’t use the pause key)
⑶ Give several minutes to the students and encourage them to retell the passage with their own words.
⑷ Explain the language points.
⑸ Do exercises.一. 用所给词的适当形式填空
1. Maybe you should _____(learn) to relax.
2. She has ___(take) her daughter to piano lessons.
3. The Taylors_____(be)like many American and British parents.
4. Teachers complain about_____(teach) tired kids in the classroom.

二.阅读下面短文,写出括号中所给单词的正确形式,使短文意思完整。
Sometimes, most of children can’t get on well with their parents. It’s hard for them to communicate with their parents. Step Five:   Discuss
Discuss Read these statements. Is the situation the same in China? Discuss with your partner.

Step Six:  Group work
Let the students do section 3. 3c
Now you are Dr Alice Green (a psychologist). Write a letter to TV Station. Try to give advice about what she should do with her children,
Dear Cathy
I know you are a good mother, but I think your children are under too much pressure. They need more time to relax themselves. One or two after-school activities for them is enough. I hope all of you have a better life.

Step Seven:  Sum up
Today we learn the text “Maybe you should learn to relax”. Then what can we learn from the text?  When I feel under pressure, we should learn to relax. We also should have good ways to relax. For example, I could eat healthy food, try to have a good life habit, do sports, talk with others, and try to be outgoing and so on.
Step Eight:   Homework
以“ How do you get on well with your classmates?”为标题写一篇英文短文。字数60—80字。
六:教学反思:根据《英语新课程标准》的规定,英语教师应学会充分利用内容丰富、体裁广泛的阅读短文,帮助学生提高捕捉短文细节、归纳中心思想、根据上下文进行猜测词语、根据短文进行逻辑推理等英语阅读能力。在进行阅读课教学时,我们应该注重培养学生的以下几种阅读技巧。第一、找出段落的主题句。第二、略读和跳读。第三、通过上下文猜测词义。第四、预测和推断。
阅读教学既是初中英语教学的重点,也是教学上的难点。学生通过阅读学习词汇、句型和语法等基础知识,同时还可以获取英语信息,了解英语国家的社会文化。所以英语教师应根据一篇具体的阅读文章特点,设计各种各样的练习,帮助学生掌握所读文章的主题思想,抓住文章的重要细节,即理解字面的意思,又理解上下文的逻辑关系,快速、准确、高效地获取所需信息。这样的教学,不仅有利于学生学习语言基础知识,获得丰富的语言信息,同时还能掌握独立的阅读技巧,从而使学生增长了知识,开阔了视野,激发了兴趣,发展了思维,而且还培养出独立的阅读能力和形成良好的自主学习能力。
