前些年，美国电影协会（AFI）评选出100句经典电影名言。这个评选由1500个评委在400句候选台词中选出，提名的原则包括某句名言的文化冲击力、它在日常语言中的使用频率、以及在提到它所属的那部电影时被引用的频率。
这些当选的经典电影台词，有的就是那一缕缕轻柔的智慧之光，有的则给我们带来一个个刻骨铭心、荡气回肠的回忆......
在这100个经典语录里，克拉克·盖博在《随风而逝》结尾处对费雯丽说的话“Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn!"（坦白说，亲爱的，我一点也不在乎!）名列榜首。
紧跟着的是马龙·白兰度在《教父》中的“我会给他一个他无法拒绝的承诺”；《码头风云》中的“你不理解！我可能有社会地位，我可能成为一个竞选者、我可能已经成了个上等人，而不是一个游民，像现在这副样子。”
排名第四位的是《绿野仙踪》中朱迪·嘉伦的台词：“托托，我觉得我们已经不在堪萨斯州了。”
