【摘要】词块法是在外语教学提倡以应用为目的的背景下兴起的新的语言教学理论。本文揭示词块教学对高三学生在写作能力的影响，实验表明，词块教学法能有效提高学生的写作水平。

【Abstract】The Lexical Approach is a new emerging teaching theorywhich based on the ideas that English teaching should focus on application.This research aims at exploring the effect of Lexical Approach on senior highschool students’ writing and provides pedagogical implication of the approachin teaching.

一、当前学生在英语写作中存在的问题
据观察，高中生在英语写作中普遍存在以下不足：忽略审题或审题错误，概括差、不切题；人称、时态、语态出现错误；词语运用不当，或过多地重复某一单词；无句型，只会运用缺乏新意单调乏味的主谓宾句子结构；千篇一律的句子及开头方式；过渡连接差和内容不连贯；结构不清晰；全文层次不明等。因此，笔者认为有意识地帮助学生练习表达的技巧，总结注意的事项，使他们通过掌握英语写作的基本技能，最终在考查中获取高分。
二、 词块积累对写作的影响
1、词块的类型
语言专家们对词块做出了不同的分类，按照其结构可以分为四类：
（1）多词组合：指具有习语性质的固定词组。如“by theway”, “to be frank ”等等；
（2）惯用表达式：指形式固定或半固定的具有语用功能的单词组合。如“It’s upto you”，“Need a hand”等等；
（3）限制性短语：这类词块是由某些固定结构形成的框架式短语，语言使用者可以根据需要进行替换。如“as faras…concerned”，“to one’s surprise/astonishment”等等；
（4）句子框架结构和引语：这类词块指为整个句子提供框架的词汇短语及引语。如：“Helpyourself to some… ”，“Give my regards to your …”等等。从词汇层到句子层，词汇组块形式从完全固定的表达到半固定的表达，其间断性越来越大，灵活性依次增强，这就为语言学习者掌握词块，从而创造性地使用词块提供了可能。
词块是语言使用者在语言输入和输出过程中频繁使用的,具有特定语义和结构并以固定或者半固定形式存在的,有利于提高语言生成能力的短语，固定搭配，习惯用语和句式。例如:A friend of mine /put forward somesuggestions on traveling/in his letter.这个句子可以看成是三个词块组成的。
2、词块有如下特点：
(1)预制性。每一种语言都存在着大量公式化的，预制性的词块。掌握大量词块是以后熟练和创造性使用语言的基础。
(2)词块集语义，语境和语法为一体。也就是说，词块的使用是为了表达特定的意义，词块的构成有着一定的结构和规则。
(3)约定性。许多词块是人们在语言行为过程中约定俗成的，它们按照特定的社会惯例而形成并有固定或半固定的搭配。如be superior to; by the way; the +比较级, the +比较级等等。
笔者主张有效利用词块来解决学生语言产出水平低的问题(包括语病百出，表达不符合英语语言习惯，母语干扰现象严重等)。这需要平时的有意识地积累。
3、那么，词块积累对写作有什么影响呢?
下面是两位学生就“报纸的选择性以及报纸在生活中的作用”所写的文章。第一位学生的文章是：
Newspaperis a good way to gain important message for us. We can know the event happenedin the same day. Today there are many newspapers and we are convenient to buythem. People can choose the newspapers which is adjust themselves.
I have ahobby to look newspapers everyday. I can’t imagine one day without it. When Ilooking newspaper, I will write the important message, those message helped mein my lessons. One day, when I wrote my exam, I was “hurt” by a difficult text,but I quickly remember the answer because the newspaper. I was great thank tothe newspaper.
另一位学生的作文是：
As weknow, newspapers playan important role in our everyday life because they can provide us witha lot of important information. They not only let us know what happenedin the world but also let us know in advance what the weatherwill be like. Although there are all kinds of newspapers, differentpeople choose different newspapers to read and buy the newspapers which aresuitable for them.
As faras I am concerned,newspapers are my good friends. They keep me company every day and tellme the latest national affairs, the weather report, the TV programs and so on,Without newspapers, I can’t imagine what our life will be like. In aword, newspapers are of great importance in our everyday life.
从这两篇文章可以看到，词块积累对学生写作有如下作用：
1）提高准确度和地道性。词块的构成成分受语法结构与语义搭配的双重限制，记忆不易出错，学生即学即用，可提高表达的准确度和地道性。例如，第一篇文章的作者缺乏词块积累，只好临时抱佛脚，简单地拼凑词汇和语法，文章明显受到汉语思维的影响，结果导致文章出现许多错误（扩号里内容为正确表达）：in(on) the same day/we are convenient tobuy them(it is convenient for us to buy them)/is adjust themselves (is suitablefor themselves)/look(read)newspaper/was great thank to (am very thankful to)等。而第二篇文章的作者由于积累了丰富的词块(下划线处)，使得文章不仅准确，而且地道。
2）增加流畅性和连贯性。词块是具有预制性的整体存储单位，写作时学生可以从记忆中以整体形式提取，无须再临时考虑词句组合的规则，或者结构的正确性，因而大大减少遣词造句的负担。第二篇文章的作者由于运用了词块，使他在写作时能采用because, not only...but also,although等连词，清楚地体现了句与句之间的逻辑关系，从而使文章显得连贯而流畅。
3）提高对作文的宏观控制能力。在写作时使用足够的词块，在减少大脑处理信息负担的同时，还可以使学生把部分注意力集中到如何从整体角度去组织写作内容上。第二篇文章中，作者用as we know 引入话题，用asfar as I am concerned 过渡到自己的情况，再用in a word总结，显得结构完整、条理清晰、上下衔接、首尾呼应。
三、优秀范文赏析
下面再以两篇范文为例来看一看什么样的文章才算是一篇优秀的文章?
以下是一位学生就“如何帮一位新同学融入新集体”所写的文章:
Dear Li Ming,
Welcometo our class! Judging from your puzzled expression, I can say that it’difficult for you to adjust yourself to the new class, isn’t it? Now, cheerup and listen to me.
As far as I know, you left youhometown to study here, so you sometimes feel homesick. Besides, youmight feel lonely since you are not familiar with the surroundings andpeople here. What’s more, the customs here might be different from thoseof your former school, am I right?
In my opinion, there is no point worrying about these. Whatyou should do is concentrating on your class and study. Then, try tobe optimistic and outgoing. Don’t hesitate to turn toyour teachers and classmates. I’m sure that they are always pleased to help youout.
As far as I’m concerned, would you like me to show you around our school, andthen play basketball for a while? In addition, I’d like to introducesome of my friends to you.

点评：文章应用了大量连接手段，如：as far asI know, besides, what’s more, in my opinion, as far as I’m concerned, inaddition等过渡自然，行文流畅。在Judging from your puzzled expression, I cansay that it’ difficult for you to adjust yourself to the new class, isn’t it?一句中应用了分词及it作形式宾语，句子形式灵活。另外其他的优秀词汇和固定搭配，如adjust yourself to, be familiar with, thereis no point doing sth., concentrate on, in a nutshell等，为文章添色不少。

Manystudents feel it difficult to finish so much homework. Not only dothey have classes in school but also do their homework at home. I haveheard that some of students stay up until midnight. How hard they are!
In myopinion, there are somereasons causing it. On one hand, the teachers consider that themore exercise the students do, the better they will learn. so theteachers ask the poor students to do a great deal of work. On the other hand,the parents also demand their children that they should do much homeworkin order to get their lessons improved.
I’m not infavour of taking too much work. The teachers and parents shouldchange their way to bring up their children.
点评：文章结构严谨，语言丰富，句式多变。如（划线部分）使用了倒装句“Not only do they have…”，感叹句“How hard they are! ”，分词“causing…,get… improved”不定式“it difficult to finish…”, “…to bring up”，虚拟语气“...demandtheir children that they should do... ”等，体现了作者很强的语言驾驭能力。本文还准确使用了常用的过渡词及短语使文章增色。
从以上优秀范文来看，词块的积累在提高学生写作方面有独特的优势和作用，因此学习和积累词块，培养词块意识是非常重要的。
四、如何在英语教学帮助学生积累和运用词块
1. 提高教师的词块意识，有意培养学生的词块敏感性。教师应充分意识到词块是理想的词汇教学单位，在教学中要有意识地培养学生对词块的敏感性。在讲解词汇前可以让学生先在课文中找出该词形成的词块，并且鼓励学生在课外进行搜集整理词块，培养学生自学能力。讲解词汇时尽量将特定的词汇讲解与相应的语境相联系，积极创造交际情景，对其进行语境存在分析，然后让学生对其进行相关语言生成能力练习。甚至可以鼓励学生根据他所搜集的词块来讲解具体单词。教师要指导学生养成以词块为基本单位学习、记忆和使用词汇的意识和习惯，同时改变长时间机械背诵单词的方法，增加随机学习的比重，将机械记忆和灵活记忆有机结合，充分利用零散时间学习，做到最大限度克服母语干扰。
2．培养学生基于词块的语言输出能力。现阶段中学生英语输入能力普遍强于输出能力，特别是口头表达能力差。英语学习的最终目地是进行人际交流和写作。学生由于种种原因不敢开口，最终导致开不了口，学到了“哑巴英语”。教师要鼓励学生不要怕犯错误，帮助学生树立自信心。在训练的开始阶段，只要学生能清楚的表达自己的观点或思想就应该给与肯定。在表达思想时要尽可能坚持以词块为单位，无须过多关注语法。随着学生表达能力不断进步，教师可以逐渐更正其表达失误，但其本原则应以不伤害其表达热情为主。写作中大量的词块可以提高学生的选词能力，增强使用英语的条理性和逻辑性，产出地道的文章。
3．接触真实的语言材料，词块化处理高频稳定结构。我们都知道自然真实的语言对外语学习的作用，而将学生完全暴露于自然英语语境在我国现阶段的英语教学中还难以普及。在这样的现行条件下，教师唯一能做的就是尽可能地把英语自然语言呈现给学生。通过开展中外学生交流、聘请外籍教师、阅读原著、观看原版电影或电视节目以及收听英语广播等具体途径增加自然语言的输入。尤其要强调的是以“听”为形式的自然语言输入。鼓励学生将一部电影或一个访谈节目中出现频率较高的稳定结构记录下来，对其进行词块化处理，加以消化吸收存储备用。这一过程不仅是观察假设并加以输入的过程，而且也是对先前的输入或输出的语言进行验证、再验证的过程。
五、结语
笔者认为基于词块的教学法符合人类语言的认知规律，有助于培养学生运用目的语进行交流的能力。所以，充分挖掘词块的潜能，建立以词块为基本单位的词汇教学法是一条切实可行的路子。本文只是初步分析了词块理论的意义和对英语写作的启示，至于如何切实加强和促进词块教学还需要进一步探讨。
