提示词常用来表示意思递进、思路转折、概括总结、事物发展顺序、前后因果等。提示词具有指示的作用，表明句子与句子之间或者句子内部存在的逻辑关系。学会识别提示词，对加深理解和提高阅读速度都会有很大的帮助。
