第一次见到 “Don’ t tell me.” 英子还以为是《情深深雨蒙蒙》里面“我不听，我不听！”的翻译呢

昨天开会，小J说最近公司伙食太好，有点发福，他要减肥。外教说了一句 Don't tell me。小J 憋了半天不说话。外教很奇怪，来问我是不是哪里说错话了？

 Don't tell me! ≠ 让你别说话！

→ 当“Don't tell me!”是一个独立句子时，它表达的意思是“我才不信呢”！✔️

是对你说的话表示怀疑——

- I have failed my exam.

我考试没及格.

- Don't tell me!

我才不信呢！(骗谁呢你)

注意：这个意思 don't tell me = I don't buy it = 我才不相信呢！

→ 但“Don't tell me”后面接that从句时，它也可以表达“别告诉我...”——

- Don't tell me that you can't do it.

别告诉我你不会做这件事。

 You don't say ≠ “你别说了！”

这个句子依旧不能只看字面意思，它的真实意思是：是真的吗？

“You don't say.”一般有两种用法：

① 表达嘲讽

-My boyfriend is tall, handsome and well-educated.

我男朋友又高又帅，而且受过良好的教育。

-You don’t say! You are so lucky.

真的吗，那你还真幸运啊！

② 表示怀疑：

-I swear I will buy a car in one year.

我发誓我会在一年内买一辆车。

 Tell me about it ≠ 告诉我这个事 

如果有人对你说“Tell me about it.”可千万不要再喋喋不休的说下去，

因为这个句子的意思是：可不是嘛！（好了，我同意，你别再说了。）✔️

- His attitude is driving me crazy.

他的态度真的快让我疯掉了。

- Tell me about it.

可不是嘛！

如果你希望别人告诉你，应该说——

→ “Tell me what happened  ✔️

（告诉我发生了什么）”

 I’m telling you ≠ 我正在告诉你

这个句子是想强调自己说的都是真的，希望对方要相信自己，可翻译为“请一定要相信我啊”！✔️

-I’m telling you, he’s the best worker in the office.

请相信我，他是办公室最优秀的员工了！

→ 如果想表达“我告诉你”，我们一般不会说“正在告诉”，只会是“告诉了”或者“告诉过”。

-I told you before. ✔️

我之前告诉你了。

-I have told you that you’d better keep away from him. ✔️

我告诉过你要离他远一点。
