Because of our unique structure and approach to engineering, for example, the lack of formal boundaries between engineering disciplines, our research is highly interdisciplinary and often includes connections to other departments on campus outside of the School.
In keeping with our interdisciplinary nature, the School of Engineering has no traditional departments and Brown does not award degrees based by specific research area.
Applications to the School of Engineering must be completed on-line. You can upload supporting documents, i.e. letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, and a copy of your transcript/s for evaluation purposes only. Before a final decision can be made on your application, the original transcript/s must be sent to:
