with views towards the city of valencia, the interior space is organized around a microarchitecture which dominates and articulates the room. it takes shape in the form of a sculpture constructed out of timber strips with a dual function. on one hand, it repeats and thus continues the outdoor spatial experience, concluding a sequence of cascade-like spaces. on the other, it improves the acoustics of the room and creates a figural attraction which can be seen from the outside.
for the supporting structure, curved tubes provide stability while thin strands of wood run against them horizontally. thus, the weave appears to constantly change as diners circulate to their seats, with its contours creating a moiré effect that skews boundaries and views from one side of the restaurant to the other. the wooden structure has been made both with digital design and fabrication techniques by GGlab, and traditional woodworking techniques by manolo garcía.
