教授给学生准备了一场突击考试，
这场不同寻常的考试要学生写下在试卷上看到的东西——
一张白色试卷，中间一个黑点。

The glass is always half full, am I right? Sure – only it seems to be human nature not to notice the fullness of the glass, only its’ emptiness. In this story, a wise teacher makes his students realize how easy it is to lose oneself in looking at the small, negative things in life, while it is as easy, if not easier, to forget to appreciate all the positive things we have. His method of doing so? He gives his student exam papers with only a single black dot in the centre…
One day, a professor entered his classroom and asked his students to prepare for a surprise test. They all waitedanxiously at their desks for the exam to begin. The professor handed out the exams with the textfacing down, as usual. Once he handed them all out, he asked the students to turn over the papers.
一天，一位教授走进教室，要求他的学生们准备一次突击考试。学生们全都坐在座位上焦急地等待考试的开始。像往常一样，教授将试卷正面朝下分发到每位同学的书桌上。分发完毕，教授要求学生们将试卷翻过来正面朝上。
To everyone’s surprise, there were no questions–just a black dot in the centre of the paper. The professor, seeing the expression on everyone’s faces, told them the following: “I want you to write about what you see there.” The students, confused, got started on the inexplicable task.
让每位学生大感意外的是，试卷上没有任何问题——只有试卷中央的一个黑点。看到学生们脸上露出的惊讶表情，教授解释说：“我要你们写下在试卷上看到的东西。”学生们在困惑中开始了这次莫名其妙的考试。

At the end of the class, the professor took all the exams, and started reading each one of themout loud in front of all the students. All of them, with no exception, defined the black dot, trying to explain its position in the centre of the sheet. After all the students’ writings had been read and the classroom was silent, the professor started to explain:

Everyone focused on the black dot – and the same thing happens in our lives. We insist on focusing only on the ‘black dot’: – the health issues that bother us, the lack of money we have, the complicated relationship with a family member, the disappointment in a friend. “

今天的两个小故事,从同理上讲，很应了现在一种比较流行的说法叫“思路决定出路”。我们常听到的老话儿是说“不到黄河心不死，不撞南墙不回头”。这话应该是描述了表象的自然规律。其实，若想成就一番事业，则要有“面对黄河心不死，撞了南墙不回头”的精神和勇气。水再汹涌，桥、船皆可用之，墙虽难攀，不妨借助搭梯。曾看到过这样一句话，“永远不要质疑这个行业是否进入了寒冬，需要考虑的是，即使是在盛夏你是否有能力胜任？”这个能力就是面对困难的时候，不屈服于表面上看，你必须做出的唯一选择。同时，第二个小故事给我更多的感触是，人们的惯性思维常常会把生活中的“黑点”作为焦点去关注，甚至放大。久而久之，会障住心，迷了眼。与他人而言，看到的都是对方的“不足和缺点”，不能与人为善。与自己而言，会抱怨诸事不顺，而不去珍惜已经拥有的。说到底，无论是事业还是生活，莫怕“山穷水尽疑无路”，需要的是善于思考，努力拼搏，坚持不懈。由此，迎接你的必会是“柳暗花明又一春”。
