胡寿荣1987年本科毕业于中国美术学院并留校任教，先后取得硕士、博士学位后担任教授。年轻时多次受德国汉堡文化部专邀至欧洲进行文化艺术交流，横跨南北贯通海内外的丰富履历，让他见证了东西方文化的碰撞。因此产生了更多的激情和使命促使他一直在寻找和尝试不同种全新的，更具概念性的语言，胡寿荣密切关注并研究了西方艺术，对德国表现主义、浪漫主义、象征主义形态兴趣尤为浓厚。特别被法.雷东以及诸如德.基西纳和法.莫罗之类的大胆表达手法所吸引。这些影响使他充分吸收且不局限在学院的传统中国画绘画技法和表现形式。相反，他敏锐地观察了日常生活中的物体和图像，再从不断创新的技法中表达自己对绘画的激情。

Hu Shourong's visual art and rich variety of paintings reflect his bold attempts and fusion of Eastern and Western artistic traditions.

Hu Shourong graduated from the China Academy of Art in 1987 and stayed as a teacher. After obtaining a master's degree and a doctorate degree, he became a professor at the China Academy of Art. When he was young, he was specially invited by the German Hamburg Ministry of Culture to go to Europe for cultural and artistic exchanges. Hu Shourong has witnessed the collision of Eastern and Western cultures with his rich resume spanning north and south, both at home and abroad. Therefore, his more passion and mission for art has prompted him to always look for and try different kinds of new and more conceptual languages. Hu Shourong paid close attention to and studied Western art, and was particularly interested in the forms of German Expressionism, Romanticism, and Symbolism. He was especially attracted by Far Redon and bold expressions such as De Chicina and Far Moreau. These studies enabled him to fully absorb but not limited to the traditional Chinese painting techniques and expressions taught in the college. On the contrary, he keenly observes objects and images in daily life, and then expresses his passion for painting through innovative techniques.

Hu Shourong's works, whether in shape or color, are endlessly varied and uniquely seductive. For decades, he has been pursuing pure art unremittingly, constantly climbing new heights of art, and has never stopped. Relying on his unique source of inspiration and keen intuition for art, he is solidly rooted in the academy's pen and ink skills, rooted in the imagery of traditional Chinese paintings, and at the same time cleverly blends Western expressionism and modern spirit, looking for beauty and intuition between reason and intuition. Meaning excellent balance and subtle and moving visual elements. His works are diverse in themes, ranging from people and scenery in daily life to fantasy situations full of romanticism. In his works, he penetrates the gathering and dispersal of dots, lines and ink, transcending the depiction of appearance, creating a unique style of work with high aesthetic value, which is both Chinese and world-wide. This is the romantic and mysterious charm of Hu Shourong's works.
